THE VAN GORDEN FUND OF THE MILLER-DWAN FOUNDATION
The Van Gorden Fund is comprised of four separate component funds, each
dedicated to physical rehabilitation issues, each with their distinct
purpose. Grant applications must be received by the following deadlines:
March 1st for review in April
July 1st for review in August
October 1st for review in November
New Initiatives Outreach Fund — This fund is designed to support and
promote innovative new projects in regard to physical rehabilitation services,
research and education, as well as the promotion of creativity and excellence in
rehabilitation services programming. This fund is open to nonprofits in our area
working to meet the needs of people with disabilities.

New Initiatives Polinsky Fund — This fund is designed to support and
promote innovative new projects in regard to physical rehabilitation services,
research and education at Polinsky Medical Rehabilitation Center, as well as the
promotion of creativity and excellence in rehabilitation services programming.
This fund is intended only for SMDC/Polinsky Medical Rehabilitation Center
projects/programs.

Sara M. Young Education Fund — The Sara M. Young Fund was established
in honor of Sara Young, a supporter of Polinsky, physical rehabilitation
services and the needs of people with disabilities. This fund is designed to
provide educational opportunities to rehabilitation patients, family members and
practitioners. Consideration is given to projects providing effective and
innovative education programming, library resources, rehabilitation programming,
workshops, seminars and educational materials.

Albert G. Gonska Fund — This fund is comprised primarily of funds
donated by Albert Gonska, a
compassionate community supporter of programs for children with disabilities. It
is designed to assist in the provision of high quality, innovative
rehabilitation services and programs for children. This fund is intended only
for SMDC/Polinsky Medical Rehabilitation Center projects/programs.
